Marcus Antelante

Head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor
Instructor Bio

My name is Marcus Antelante, I am competitor athlete and a black belt first degree instructor in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, certified by IBJJF, I am also a IBJJF referee. I grew up in the city of Rio de Janeiro where I met my favorite sport at the age of 14 but my first contact with martial arts was when I was 9 years old in my first school where I studied and it was Taekwondo. As soon as I started practicing Jiu-Jitsu I fell madly in love and I started training 3 times per day intensely.

There was a period of my life that I had to reconcile my physical education college with training and tournaments but thank God I managed finish college and masters degree. It was a long journey to become a black belt but the coolest of all this is that within the world of martial arts you never stop learning, I like to say it’s a infinite process. Today my life is totally dedicated to jiu-jitsu, I spend my time teaching at my gym in Dallas (soulfightersdfw.com) and training 3 times per day for my “marathon” of competitions that is a average of about 12 tournaments a year.

Thank God today I have achieved one of the main titles recognized in my sport and I am fully satisfied professionally, but the most important thing you can achieve within jiu-jitsu are not the titles and the gold medals it’s the knowledge that you acquire that no one can take away from you, the friends that you make, self-confidence that you acquire, the emotional balance and much more wonderful benefits that only jiu-jitsu can bring to the life of a person, especially in the lives of children.
